SUMMARY:Essay Contest Entry Deadline
DESCRIPTION:Boys and girls under the age of 19 are invited to submit an essay on a pre-assigned topic during the months of October\, November\, December\, and January each year. One winner will advance to finals at the district for a chance to win a $3\,500 scholarship. The Essay Contest is sponsored jointly by Centerville Noon Optimist Club and South Metro Optimist Club of Centerville to give young people the opportunity to write about their own opinions regarding the world in which we live.  \n\n\n\nThe Official 2024-2025 Optimist International Essay Contest Topic is: “How Optimism Has Paved My Road to Success” \n\n\n\nPrizes will be as follows: 1st place $500.00\, 2nd place $250.00\, 3rd place $100.00. \n\n\n\nEntries are due no later than February 1\, 2025. \n\n\n\nFor more information\, visit our Essay Contest Page: \n\n\n\n\nEssay Contest Page

SUMMARY:Visual Arts Contest
DESCRIPTION:The Optimist Visual Arts Competition gives the youth we serve another outlet for their creativity! This exciting program is designed to encourage and celebrate youth visual art skills in painting and drawing. The contest will be held at the Centerville Noon Optimist local level and at the International level. \n\n\n\nThe theme for 2024 is: “Bringing Out the Best.” Students may submit either a painting or a drawing. There will be two age divisions for judging. \n\n\n\n1st place will receive $125.00 and teacher will receive $125 for the classroom.  \n\n\n\n2nd place will receive $60.00 and teacher will receive $60 for the classroom.  \n\n\n\n3rd place will receive $25.00 and teacher will receive $25 for the classroom. \n\n\n\nEntries are due no later than February 22\, 2025. \n\n\n\n\nVisual Arts Contest Page
