DESCRIPTION:Boys and girls under the age of 19 are invited to submit an essay on a pre-assigned topic during the months of October\, November\, December\, and January each year. One winner will advance to finals at the district for a chance to win a $3\,500 scholarship. DESCRIPTION:The Centerville Noon Optimist Club supports Optimist International by conducting the annual Margaret Barclay Memorial Oratorical Contest.  This contest provides an excellent opportunity for students to develop important public speaking skills.  Contestants prepare and deliver a speech between four and five minutes in length on the assigned topic. The winner on each of two contest dates will receive a cash prize of $500. \n\n\n\nThe topic for 2026\, determined by Optimist International\, is “The Moment I Realized I Belonged—My Definition of Community.” \n\n\n\nAll Community Members and Centerville Noon Optimist Club members are invited to watch the Oratorical competition. \n\n\n\nThe winners from the Club contests advance to the Zone competition\, and then may advance to the District Regional competition and the Finals at the District level. SUMMARY:Visual Arts Contest
DESCRIPTION:The Optimist Visual Arts Competition gives the youth we serve another outlet for their creativity! This exciting program is designed to encourage and celebrate youth visual art skills in painting and drawing. The contest will be held at the Centerville Noon Optimist local level and at the International level. \n\n\n\nThe Theme for 2026 is: “Be Bold – Be The Change.” Students may submit either a painting or a drawing. There will be two age divisions for judging. \n\n\n\n1st place will receive $125.00 and teacher will receive $125 for the classroom.  \n\n\n\n2nd place will receive $60.00 and teacher will receive $60 for the classroom.  \n\n\n\n3rd place will receive $25.00 and teacher will receive $25 for the classroom. \n\n\n\nEntries are due no later than February 23\, 2026. \n\n\n\n\nVisual Arts Contest Page
