Oratorical Contest Entry Deadline

This contest provides an excellent opportunity for students to develop important public speaking skills.
The topic for 2027, determined by Optimist International, is “How My Actions Strengthen Those Around Me.”
Contestants prepare and deliver a speech between four and five minutes in length on the assigned topic at Centerville Library at 6pm on 2/8/2027 or 2/11/2027. The winner on each contest date will receive a cash prize of $500 and will advance to the regional contest. The winner at the District level will receive a scholarship of $3500.
Entries are due no later than January 29, 2027.
