Oratorical Contest Entry Deadline

This contest provides an excellent opportunity for students to develop important public speaking skills.
The topic for 2026, determined by Optimist International, is “The Moment I Realized I Belonged—My Definition of Community.”
Contestants prepare and deliver a speech between four and five minutes in length on the assigned topic at 6pm at Woodbourne Library. The winner on each contest date will receive a cash prize of $500 and will advance to the regional contest. The winner at the District level will receive a scholarship of $3500.
Entries are due no later than January 9, 2026.
