Volunteer – Capable Kids
September 10 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Capable Kids is our take on the Let Grow initiative (letgrow.org), with the motto or catchphrase that When Adults Step Back, Kids Step Forward.
The idea is to get kids off their screens, be a full member of the community, and learn how to engage with others “IRL.” The core activity for the evening is for kids to create a Bingo Card with 24 activities they’d like to try on their own, anything and everything from cooking a meal to a day at King’s Island. The takeaway for the kids is then to be able to have the conversations with their parents about exercising that independence.
Volunteers would:
- Meet and greet families as they come in
- Share stories with kids and parents – informally lead discussions about childhood independence
- Help kids with their bingo cards
- Help with setup and cleanup
- “Run” an activity
