Robert J. O’Toole EMT/Firefighter of the Year Award Presented to Tyler Foust

For the 27th consecutive year, the Centerville Noon Optimists honored a dedicated individual with the Robert J. O’Toole EMT/Firefighter of the Year Award. This year’s recipient, Tyler Foust, serves as the shop foreman and emergency vehicle technician for the Washington Township Fire Department. Tyler’s exceptional dedication to ensuring the department’s emergency vehicles are well-maintained and reliable plays a vital role in the success of the fire department’s operations.

Bringing Out the Best in Kids Award 2024, Stacey Westendorf

Stacey Westendorf, the principal at Magsig Middle School, was given the Bringing Out the Best in Kids Award. The annual award honors long time educator Margaret Barclay who was also a long-time member of the Centerville Noon Optimist Club. The award is for adults who work, or have worked, in the field of education. They will have a minimum of ten years involvement in community service with youth in the Centerville-Washington Township community.

Bringing Out the Best in Kids Award 2023, Arleen Petty

Arleen Petty is this year’s recipient. She is the school counselor at Hadley E. Watts Middle School in Centerville City Schools. The award honors adults who work, or have worked, in the field of education. They will have a minimum of ten years involvement in community service with youth in the Centerville-Washington Township community.

John P. Kalaman Respect for Law Awards 2023

Every year one award is selected for the City of Centerville Police Department and one award is selected for the Washington Township Substation of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Nominations are accepted from the peers of those eligible. All employees of the department are eligible, not just police officers.
