Sarah Jacobs and Marion Delatore received the Bringing Out the Best in Kids Award, an annual honor that recognizes adults in the field of education who have made a lasting impact on local youth. The award was established in memory of longtime educator and Centerville Noon Optimist Club member Margaret Barclay. Recipients must have at least ten years of community service working with young people in the Centerville-Washington Township area.

Bringing Out the Best in Kids Award 2024, Stacey Westendorf

Stacey Westendorf, the principal at Magsig Middle School, was given the Bringing Out the Best in Kids Award. The annual award honors long time educator Margaret Barclay who was also a long-time member of the Centerville Noon Optimist Club. The award is for adults who work, or have worked, in the field of education. They will have a minimum of ten years involvement in community service with youth in the Centerville-Washington Township community.

Bringing Out the Best in Kids Award 2023, Arleen Petty

Arleen Petty is this year’s recipient. She is the school counselor at Hadley E. Watts Middle School in Centerville City Schools. The award honors adults who work, or have worked, in the field of education. They will have a minimum of ten years involvement in community service with youth in the Centerville-Washington Township community.
