Crayons to Classrooms Puts Free School Supplies in the Hands of Local Teachers

Jaida Anderson, Volunteer Coordinator at Crayons to Classrooms, told CNO 2.0 how the Dayton nonprofit has distributed more than $40 million in free school supplies to teachers in under-resourced schools since 2009, and will serve 150 schools and 10 childcare centers this coming school year. Members spent the rest of the evening at Rumbleseat Wine assembling journals for students.

DC2C is a free store for teachers from under-funded preK-12 schools that serve students living in poverty. In partnership with local businesses, individual donors, and community volunteers, DC2C lifts at-risk student’s level and love of learning by collecting and distributing donated supplies and surplus products for use in the classroom.
