Erin Dickerson’s Prayer
“There’s no need to be perfect to inspire others. Let others get inspired by how you deal with your imperfections.” – Anonymous
Lord,
We are all made in your image, yet not one of us is perfect. Give us the strength, courage, grace, and love to embrace and appreciate our imperfections and to inspire others to do the same.
Amen.

Optimist International Club of the Year 2022-2023
At the International Convention, CNO was honored as the Optimist International Club of the Year 2022-2023 under the leadership of President Beth Duncan. Beth expressed gratitude to Greg Griffin for nominating the club and completing all the necessary paperwork. Notably, this year’s award was judged by a third-party organization, adding to its significance.
To commemorate the achievement, Beth provided combination coaster/bottle opener on the tables, each inscribed with the recognition of CNO being named Club of the Year. Additionally, CNO earned distinguished status for year 2022-2023, with Beth Duncan (President), Jean Pummill (Secretary), and Roland Rapp (Treasurer) being acknowledged for their roles.
Bill Stone was also recognized as the distinguished Ohio District Governor for the year 2022-2023. Jean Pummill (District Secretary) and Sarah Umbreit (District Treasurer) received distinguished honors as well.
Jean noted the positive attitudes and willingness to share ideas among clubs during the convention.
Paul Beckman (CNO President on October 1, 2024) emphasized the importance of understanding member perspectives and suggested conducting a survey to gather feedback on the club’s activities. He also recommended focusing more deeply on projects rather than expanding the already extensive list of activities.
Bill Stone 4th Quarter Challenge
As we enter the last quarter of the Optimist International year, Bill Stone highlighted the need to increase our membership count from +3 to at least +15 to achieve distinguished club status by September 30, 2024. What he really wants us to do is pass the Dorwood Optimist club, which is currently at +19 members. Bill issued a challenge to everyone to invite new people to our events and meetings, aiming to add the 20+ members needed to secure our top position in Ohio and nationally.
