Phather Phil’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, we sure like to be in control. We like to be in the front of the line, the middle of the road and our hands on the remote. We feel like Adam, if we give up control we end up in trouble. Have us know that our way is not the highway You want us on. Turning to You every day is our surest way to a full and happy life. Your promises are golden even though our ride thru life is bumpy, You promise us a smooth landing. Grant us the strength to ask You to be the remote that controls our lives. We ask this with optimism and In Your Sons name. Amen!

Today’s Speaker
Dave Kay introduced Matthew David Stanley, a magician and comedian who proved to be a most entertaining fellow. First he delighted us with rope tricks, Vida Mc Dowell was a good sport here, then the Grey Pompon mustard and catsup trick. Everyone roared when Beth Lybrook stood, swiveled her hips and said in jive talk “I got the lemon”. Then, Phather Phil brought down the house when, in his deep resonant voice with a slightly menacing touch, said: “I got the knife”. Matthew David Stanley received a well-deserved standing ovation.
