CNO 2.0 Venue and Details

The venue for tonight’s CNO 2.0 meeting was The Brunch Pub at 101 W Franklin St, Centerville Ohio. Thank you to the team at The Brunch Pub for the great food and the space.

Greg Fay, chair of CNO 2.0, said he was so thankful for all the guests and members that came to tonight’s meeting. He also gave a recap of what our club is all about and that information is at the bottom of this article.

Warren County Foundation, Carol Hughes

Greg Fay introduced Carol Hughes, an ambassador of Warren County Foundation.

Carol Hughes shared tips for community building from her experience as an ambassador with the Warren County Foundation and as the former Springboro Chamber of Commerce director.

Tip 1: Continually evaluate if what you’re doing is working and be willing to change course. We all face struggles and pivoting makes you stronger.

Tip 2: Don’t be afraid to talk to anyone and ask for help, whether city officials, school leaders, or businesses. They want to be involved in community success.

Tip 3: Identify key people to collaborate with towards your goals. Bring together diverse partners like government, schools, nonprofits and businesses regularly.

She gave an example of how at Chamber meetings with all those entities present, when the school superintendent said they couldn’t afford new plow trucks, the city manager instantly offered to take care of plowing for the schools.

Now at the Foundation, she facilitates charitable giving by asking donors “How can we help you fulfill your wishes?” Whether creating a scholarship fund, business grants, or other philanthropic goals, the Foundation guides donors through the process.

The key is surrounding yourself with partners who share the vision of strengthening the community. Provide ways for people to get involved philanthropically through volunteering or donations. You serve as the connector between their desire to give back and the opportunities to do so.

Thank You Carol Hughes

Thank you, Carol Hughes, for speaking at tonight’s CNO 2.0 meeting and giving us some community building tips.
