Ollie’s Place in Centerville Hosted our second monthly Optimist 2.0 meeting of 2018 – providing excellent appetizers, beverages and service. There were a total of 39 members and guests in attendance. We inducted five new club members and listened to an inspiring speaker – details on both are below.
Our next Optimist 2.0 Meeting will be Thursday, March 15th at 5:30PM at Heavier Than Air Brewing Company. Our guest speaker will be non other than Steve “did someone say something about buying a car?” Van Gorder – founder of SVG Motors. Do you know someone who needs a lift or enjoys being part of an award-winning world class local service club? – Invite them to come and see what Centerville Noon Optimist 2.0 is all about.

Today’s Speakers
Greg Fay welcomed everyone and gave a brief overview of what the Centerville Noon Optimist Club is as a service organization and invited folks interested in helping kids to come and join us as a Friend of Youth. Greg Griffin then gave a short description of our upcoming Easter Egg Hunt to be held on Saturday March 31, 2018 at Forest Field Park. Nancy Lehren, Chairperson of the Childhood Cancer Committee, gave a brief overview of one of the club’s most meaningful events – the Free Build-a-Bear Event hosted three times a year at Dayton Children’s Hospital for Kids battling cancer.
Jason Johnson our guest speaker then gave a very inspiring talk on BOGG Ministries and how they are helping feed families – many with kids in the local area. New Member Inductions
Three new Optimist Club Members were inducted by Club President Chris McAlpine: Suzanne Werts, Jonathan Werts, Clint Freese, Brent Richburg, and Ryan Coble were welcomed into the club as “Friends of Youth” to help us help local kids.
