Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disorder that affects mostly the lungs, but also the pancreas, liver, kidneys, and intestine. In the U.S. 33,000, have the disease, which is about 0.009% of the population. The median age now is 47. Over half of all those with CF are over the age of 18.
